World Cup Soccer Balls

FIFA has made it official and decreed that the World Cup games will use the traditional black and white balls EXCEPT in the final game. That ball will be gold. I only mention this article because of this peculiar bit:

"David Beckham, the England captain with the appropriate nickname of “Golden Balls”..."

How? Or Why? Or is that something you just skip over?

Updated Schedules

I have rescheduled the cancelled games and will post the new schedules on MONDAY, March 27. PLEASE check your schedules CAREFULLY! I had to move some games around to prevent certain teams from playing 4 times in one week....

St. Patrick's Day

As St.Patrick's Day approaches I am reminded of my many soccer playing ancestors. They could dribble pretty well without looking at the ball. Unfortunately, their curly shoes made shooting a problem.

Head Referee Doug Hayward would like to remind you that new rules are in place for dealing with spectators who question a referee's call.

SPRING 2006

The schedule for the Spring 2006 season is as follows:

Within the next week, registration forms will be sent to those who played in the Fall 2005 season.

The deadline for registration and the in-person registration at the Anna Junior High will be Saturday, February 11 (Valentine's Day! Oh wait...that's not Valentine's Day, but it's around there somewhere).

The team selection draw will be February 22.

Games begin March 11. Tuesday and Thursday games are scheduled to begin at 5PM until April, when the starting time will be moved to 5:30PM.

The end of the season will be April 22. No games will be scheduled from April 13- 16.

I hope to have a downloadable copy of the registration form and attached letter available on this site in the next day or two.
